Journal Response #3

If you had to live in hiding and could not make a sound from 9am-6pm everyday, except Sunday, and had no electronic toys to entertain yourself, what would you do?  Make up a daily schedule for one of your days, by listing an activity for every hour from 9-6.

  2. If I had to live in hiding, unable to make a sound from nine to six, I would have this schedule: I would wake up at ten, the time I like to wake up. The less time I have to spend not making sound, the better. I’d probably also eat breakfast at this hour. At eleven, I would probably write in a notebook or diary. At noon, I would try practicing darts in my small room. At one, I would play chess by myself or teach my sister how to play (silently, of course) At two, I would eat lunch. At three, I would read a book. At four, maybe I would nap. I’d definitely not sleep until late at night. Providing I get up by six, I would probably replay music in my head until after six, when I can listen to it for real. The rest of the night would include nothing but playing and listening to music (and dinner) until eleven or so, when I would go to bed.

  3. If I could not make a sound from 9am to 6pm and have any electronics I might just die from being bored. I’m just joking, I could read a book, or look outside the window and see the secrets that lie outside. Maybe I could have a diary and write what happens every day inside the building. One ordinary day in the building could be like this one. From 9am to 1pm I would fall asleep in my room. Then from 1pm to 2pm I could read a book from the piles of books I had brought with me. From 2pm to 3pm I would go to the attic and look out the wonderful view, and I would wish for all this to end peacefully. Then from 3pm to 4pm I could wright in my diary and think about the people who I am with. From 4pm to 5pm maybe prepare a quick snack. Lastly and finally the last hour I would fall asleep again. The rest of the night I would scream, laugh, play, and finally go to the bathroom. If I had electronics to play with I bet I wouldn’t even use them. Even at home today, I am always outside playing when I get the chance. I can’t stand electronics. But I would like to experience this one day to get the feeling of how Anne Frank lived her life in the building.

  4. My Daily Schedule (from 9-6):
    9-11 > Read books
    11-12:30 > Draw
    12:30-1:30 > Color
    1:30-5:30 > Nap
    5:30-6 > Write in journal/diary

This is probably what my schedule would be like. I would wake up and read the books that I had. Then I would draw for a while because I love to draw and after I am finished drawing I would color what I drew. Then, I would nap. I would nap because napping can take up a lot of time out of the silent day. After 9-6 I am free to be as loud and crazy as I want to be.

  5. If I had to live in hiding and sold not talk from 9-6 everyday, with the exception of Sunday, and had absolutely no electronic toys to entertain me, I would spend most of my time reading. I would sit and read the day away, while also periodically taking naps and different times. The books I would read would vary but I would try to make them long and in a long series, so it would keep my interest. Also, in would increase my intelligence without needing to go to school or have many items that I would usually need to study. From 9 to 12, I would most likely read. I would then eat a small meal and take a nap. At 1, I would read for about 2 or 3 hours, and then sleep again for about an hour. When my cycle of sleeping and reading finally ended, I would spend time with family and friends for the rest of the night.

  6. If this ever happened to me, my schedule would be pretty boring. My schedule would probibly be something like this:
Sleep until about 1 p.m. and then just sit around until 6 comes along and then fight to see who goes to the bathroom first and then help make dinner, eat, and then socialise and then go to bed. Life would be pretty boring if I was stuck in an aparment like that.

  7. During the Holocaust, two families, The Franks and The Vandaans had no choice but to go into hiding and leave their lives behind. While the Franks and the Vandaans were living in hiding they could not make a sound from 9am-6pm everyday, except Sunday. They had no electronic toys to entertain themselves with so this could have made the days long and boring. If this were I, I think I would entertain myself by writing in a diary like Anne did and by doing schoolwork. Writing the diary would be a good way of getting out my feelings and doing schoolwork could be a good way to keep me occupied.
If I were to make up a daily schedule I would make one up for Monday. On Mondays, from nine o’clock to ten o’clock I would go back to sleep after waking up at eight o’clock to eat breakfast before we had to go to our set rooms and be quiet. During the day I wouldn’t have to use the w.c. because I had already used it before the workmen came because I knew I wouldn’t be able to go until six o’clock. Around ten, I would wake up from my nap and write my dream down in my diary. I like to remember what I dream about and usually if I don’t write it down I completely forget. This will take me until about eleven o’clock. At eleven, I free draw on blank pieces of paper. Sometimes, I color in a picture that I have already drawn, so its like I am creating my own little coloring book. On any other day of the week I would only drawn for one hour, but on Mondays I usually draw until one o’clock because I like to draw about the Sunday I had, which is our free day that we don’t have to be quiet at all. After I finish drawing, I start my schoolwork. I study religion from one to three because that is the most important subject. From three to four I work on my essays for English class. Sometimes, I even work on English until five because its not my best subject. After I finish my schoolwork, I go back to writing in my diary, and do so until six, which is when we can move about our hiding place again. After my long Monday of drawing, writing, and studying, I help my family get ready for supper at six thirty.

  11. If i had to stay quiet from 9 until 6 everyday thats when i would sleep. I would sleep during the day and stay awake at night when i would be able to walk, eat, and talk. I feel this would be the most convenient schedule because when you are sleeping you don't need any of the things you wouldn't be able to do during that timeframe.

  12. If I had to live in hiding and not make a noise from 9am-6pm everyday, it would be really hard but, I would think of a schedule to accomplish this everyday. First, from 9am to 10am, I would eat breakfast. Then at 10am I would do a sudoku puzzle until 11am. Then from there, I would read until I eat a healthy lunch at 12pm. When I would be done with lunch at 1pm I would look at photos brought by my family. This would last an hour until I got bored and started to draw randomly on a piece of paper and make abstract collages at 2pm. I love doing these kinds of things and this would make the time fly by until 3pm when I would start to shoot rubber bands at targets for fun. At 4pm, I would read the bible/ pray to God that my family will not be caught. At 5pm, I would start stretching my legs from the stiffening day. Then the last hour of the time that I cannot talk, I would eat my dinner at 6pm. This is the schedule that I would assign to myself everyday and sometimes I would switch this up to make things less boring.

  13. If I had to live in hiding and could not make a sound from 9AM to 6PM, this would be my schedule:
    9:00-11:00 - school (study)
    11:00 - read
    12:00 - write
1:00 - 3:00 - play games (cards, board games, etc.)
    3:00 - read
    4:00 - write
    5:00 - study
    6:00 - MAKE SOME NOISE!!!!!!
I'm pretty sure that this day wouldn't be very entertaining except when it turns 6:00PM.

  14. If I was stuck in hiding for 9 hours, I would be bored to death, but I would attempt to make my time in hiding as enjoyable as possible. From 9am to 10am, I would probably just lay in my bed. Since I am in hiding, and there isn't much to do, so sleeping is going to become my new best friend. Because of school, I lack a good amount of sleep since I always try to do the best of my ability on my homework. From 10am-11am, I will get out of bed and quietly make my way to a table and take out my deck of playing cards. I will play a games of solitaire, build towers, or invite family over to play with me. After I have bored myself for an hour I will go back to my bed, since there is nothing to do. I will make a few sketches on paper for about an hour, from 11am-12am. From 12pm-1pm I would have a silent lunch with family, and we would be as quiet as possible. From 1pm-2pm I would go back to my bed to have another nap. At 2pm-3pm, I would write everything that has happened so far, today, in my journal. At 3pm-4pm I would go back to playing cards, and anxiously waiting for another 3 hours to pass so that I am free to talk once again. At 4pm-5pm I'm going to read some books or study a textbook. From 5pm-6pm I am going to sit by a window, draw, and wait for the last hour before I am free to move about and talk. Finally, at 6pm, I will be able to talk to my family, and feel relaxed. Finally, I can do whatever I want, except leave from hiding and make too much noise. Sundays are the best since I can do whatever I feel like too.

p.s. i forgot to hand in my homework because i didn't know we had to put it in the basket, and we had our quiz. I'll hand it in tommorow, friday dec 9th
