  1. ATTENTION ALL TOURISTS,

Get a once in a lifetime opportunity to come inside and visit the wonderful and welcoming boatwright bee keeping estate the cozy old mansion. The beautiful house is pink! How often do you get to see a pink house. It used to be a bee keeping estate. They sold honey on the side of the road. When you come to visit the estate you can shop at our memorabilia store. Or you can get something to eat at our food court. We have sandwiches, soda, water, hot dogs, hamburgers, and candy. It's great for kids and adults. If the kids have a day off of school this is a great place to go. Or to go on a field trip. Some activities that you can do here are tours. We have many brilliant tour guides here know everything there is to know about the estate and they can answer any question asked without a thought. They are good because they can teach your kids many life lessons. Another activity you can do is the hidden search. It's like a maze. You have to goto places and find things based on the clues you are given. There are relay races too. You also can see some extremely rare sights. Such as the beautiful old architecture, farm animals, old bee keepers equipment. You will also be able to say that you are standing in the same place as people long long ago did. That is the most amazing thing of all. This is an all inclusive place and it costs $35.00 a person.

  3. Tiburon, South Carolina

Deep in rural South Carolina, as asphalt gives way to gravel, the town of Tiburon is one of the oldest towns in South Carolina. It is chock-full of historical sites and because it is nearly unknown even among native South Carolinians, you'll run into few tourists or travelers. Take a long hike to the edge of town, and you'll come across the Frogmore Stew General Store and Resturant, which has been there for more than 100 years. Be sure to visit during the week, when goods are available for sale from the store; during Sundays the store is closed. In town, a pleasant stroll along Main Street will take you through quiet drugstores and the courthouse's public cannon.

A must-visit in Tiburon is the tranquil Beekeeping Estate of the Boatwrights, the official home of Black Madonna Honey. Gaze upon the estate's colorful pink house and immerse yourself in the ages-old rooms of the Boatwright House, filled with velvet furniture and walls with nothing on them but mirrors. Not only is the estate home of the Black Madonna Honey, but it is also the home of the famous Lady of Chains statue, taken hundreds of years ago from Charleston. Every devout christian will want to place his or her hand on Our Lady of Chains's heart. Of course, complimentary Orangeade courtesy of August Boatwright helps, too.

Don't just sulk and wander around inside, though. The wilderness around the Boatwright House is spectacular and quiet. Pinewoods stretch out beyond the honey house in every direction; look closely and you'll find that some are decked with beehives. The Boatwright sisters love birds, and no doubt you'll get to see the concrete birdbath and feeders everywhere. Tour the old honey making machines, and see how the supers, uncappers, and spinners work. Take the rare opportunity to try and make some honey for yourself, too!

Walk a bit further than everyone else in your tour group though, and you'll find a nice hidden secret - a lazy river, the creek which feeds all life in the area. If you're lucky, there'll be a few turtles around, and more than that, snakes, frogs, fish, and many more invisible creatures.

Tiburon is found a seven miles west of Sylvan, South Carolina, and can be accessed either by walking or by car. If by car, take the Highway 40 and cock your ears for treefrogs at night.

  7. Welcome to Tiburon, South Carolina, a charming Southern town. We have miles and miles of beautiful farmland. One of the many delightful plantations is the Boatwright Beekeeping Estate. This house, painted pink, is almost impossible to miss. Overflowing with striking Carolina jasmine, this picket-fenced farm is teeming with other plant life, such as chive, dill weed, and lemon balm. The house is mix-matched, but pleasant and appealing. The parlor features fringed throw rugs, an old piano with a lace runner, and cane-bottom rockers draped with afghans. The main attraction of the Boatwright house is the statue of Black Mary. Mighty and humble, this withering and old statue is worshiped by a group of friends called the Daughters of Mary. However, hence the name of the plantation, beekeeping is their specialty. You can hear the sound of June’s cello and the buzz of countless bees. May specializes in pancakes for breakfast, and honey is used in all their food and other products. Feel free to be a beekeeping apprentice to August, the oldest of the Boatwright sisters. You will never see another place like this. June, May, and August will be happy to have you at Boatwright Beekeeping Estate. So come on! It’s an experience that you will not want to miss.

  8. Welcome to the Boatwright's Beekeeping Estate in Tiburon, SC. This historic home has been owned by earlier generations of the Boatwrights and has been open for tours by Rosaleen Days. Visitors will be guaranteed an indescribable view and tour of the estate itself. Surrounded by welcoming wildlife, the house is painted in a bright caribbean pink, making it unique and impossible to miss. A picket fence borders the home, draped with Carolina jasmine and a porch hugs the outside of the house. A tour of the back is also available. This tour reveals beautiful paths through the deep woods and also an inside look at the honey-making process. Visitors will hear the June bugs flicker incessantly around the estate, and if you're lucky, maybe you will hear the buzzing of the famous bees towards the rear of the house. It's also very common to hear one of the sisters, June Boatwright, play the cello. Visitors are offered all different types of food, but we mainly serve meals including honey. For example, one of our morning tours meals is pancakes (in the shape of your first letter) and honey. At the Beekeeping Estate, visitors, under the watch of guides, will be allowed to make there own jar of honey, add to the wailing wall, and converse with the Boatwrights. Although rare, in the times we have been doing these tours, people have watched the making of purple honey. This only happens during a certain period of time and cannot usually be determined which days it will happen. The Boatwright's Beekeeping Estate is one that is well worth the tour!

  11. Special pink house, located in tiburon. Only half a mile from town, a beautiful estate that fufills the country life. The living room has a nice religious statue, the kitchen has a nice size to work with and a huge dining room as its neighbor. Not many cars around on the road and has guarenteed privacy. The second floor has five beautiful rooms and to top it off a huge master bedroom. The wonderful tub is new and barely used. Inside the honey making machine is a small loungue that can be used for a variety of reasons. Behind is a wall of stones that serves as a little fence to separate the house from the woods. Into the woods there is a small creek that is soothing but has animals and bugs living near the area. August Boatwright is the wonderful lady that hosts tours of the house and also owns the estate. Visitors will see a welcoming yet cozy home. The estate has plenty of grass space to run around and have a fun time outdoors.

  12. When you enter the estate owned by the Boatwrights, you will see some extraordinary things. The House is the color of Pepto-Bismal and there is another building called the Honey HOuse. You will be able to see bee equipment in the Honey House. This includes including the uncapper, used to get wax off combs, and a one story spinner, for separating honey from the bad stuff. On the other side of the Honey House, you will see mason jars, tools, pith helmets with netting, used so you don't get stung by bees on the job, and wax candles. You will also see, without a doubt, pollinating friendly bees throughout the forest. When you look inside of the bee's nest, made of supers, you can see sparking gold combs just waiting there to be exposed to our eyes.
When visiting the estate of the Boatwrights, you could hear bee's buzzing in the air that are pollinating flowers and creating honey and wax. If you listen closely, you could be able to hear a gentle stream. When visitors are hunger, they will be fed honey, flavorful sweet-potato biscuits made from May, and bananas. If you come at this moment, you will be fed, banana pudding, banana cream pie, banana jello, and a bunch more banana creations made by the talented Rosaleen. Visitors has thew experience to make honey from scratch. The Boatwrights are one of few who still make honey with this type of equipment. You can also use the wax from bees, and make decorative candles. In this estate, you have a rare sight of seeing a walkway with tons of paper stuck in the crevices. This may make some people nostalgic because it reminds people of the wailing wall found in Jerusalem. In each note, peoples sufferings are wrote down. 15. Here is a sampling:

Welcome to the lovely home of bees. Most people fear these precious bees, but they are purely great to give you the sweet taste of honey. You will see our land which we do our working on. And also see the bees and where they live. You will hear lots of buzzing and squeaky sounds of the workers using the smoke puffers. Everyone will enjoy a piece of bread with the processed honey on it and a glass of iced tea with honey. You will be walked around our land of bees and even put on a mask and look at the bees while being safe. May and August will be showing everybody around while June fixes up the bread and iced tea. Enjoy the lusciousness of the bee life.

Welcome to the home of honey, at this pink house and the land surrounding it is where Black Madonna Honey is made and shipped off. we will give you the full tour of this seemingly insignificant farm and basically show you why it’s not so insignificant (audience laughs). Over by the rows of white boxes is the face and producer of Black Madonna Honey, August Boatwright, who you will be able to meet and ask questions later in the day. In those white boxes are thousands of honey bees who, you guessed it make honey. However after they make all that honey August gives five gallons of it back to them, which shows she cares. The sisters that live here (August, May, and June) have given the guests an opportunity to go over by the bees and see how they work and what their job is as long as they follow bee yard etiquette, which means no swatting, absolutely no swatting! You will also have fun meeting these women and experiencing their various personalities. If you like eating bananas with bruises on them then you will leave the farm with about a ton of bananas because May discards about 10 a day. You will have a buzzing noise in your ear for about a week after you leave because on a honey farm that is about all you will hear. Have fun at the farm. P.S if you are lucky you see the wailing wall unoccupied by May, but it’s pretty rare.

The best ones are lengthy and full of figurative language.

Welcome to the Boatwright Beekeeping Estate. This charming estate is where the Black Madonna Honey is made. As you drive up through the pinewood forest, your first revelation is the cheerful buzzing of the honey bees, who are awaiting your visit. You should not be afraid of these bees; all they desire to do is provide you with sweet, delicious honey. As you wind your way up the road to the estate, the clear, blue river is winding with you to your left. The scent of “Carolina jasmine” fills your senses.
You cannot miss the pink flamingo estate once you reach the end of the lovely, winding road. The estate is surrounded by a charming white picket fence that is covered with more Carolina jasmine. This beautiful home is surrounded with bird feeders that feed birds of all kind. On the front porch, dill, chive, and lemon fill your senses. The wide open lawn is an amazing sight.
The three Boatwright sisters, May, June, and August will greet you and show you around for the rest of the tour. They will first show you their house and the exclusive secret and place where and how the honey is made and where the bees are located. You walk into their house feeling amazed. The first room you enter is the parlor. There is a statue of a Black Mary that the sisters worship. You also see a piano that is close to the Mary statue. The sisters will give you a few glasses of their homemade orangeade for you to try, which is out of this world. As you walk through the house, mirrors and objects made of bee’s wax, fills the house. Then, the sisters bring you to tour the honey house, honey bees, and the equipment to make the scrumptious Black Madonna honey.
The sisters will first ask you to put on your bee suits that keep you from being stung by the bees. One you have your suit on, the exciting part begins. As you draw near the bees, the buzzing controls your ears. The sound is very relaxing but also gets your heart pounding to know that thousands of bees will surround you. The sisters will show you how to scrape the honey off the combs. This process is very fun because you know that the sweet honey produced by the bees is 100% real and not manufactured. After you obtain the honey, the sisters bring you to the honey house where the honey is purified and cleaned. The machines to clean the honey are amazing.
After your tour of the Boatwright Beekeeping Estate, the sun will set right over the fragrant orchard as you leave this beautiful memory.

You will also see the massive amount of land we have and where the bees stay, along with the fact our house is pink. In Tiburon, there is one house that will stand out to you; it is the pink house ½ a mile down the road. As you drive past this memorizing sight, you can hear the hum of a million workers making the honey that fills the jars of Black Madonna’s Honey jars. They have a perfectly tuned hymn for every passerby that is lucky enough to actually listen to it. The women who live in the glorious house, have a certain reputation they made for themselves, they are sweet and loving to anyone who comes to their door. You will meet the “Calendar Sisters” May, June, and August. May makes the food, June entertains with music, and August runs the “factory” with all her attendants. While visiting, you can hang with the bees, make some honey, or change the frames for the bees. Lunch will be a lovely bologna sandwich made by the superb May and you can enjoy some lovely rhythms from June. So, come and visit them and see the miraculous events that happen in the pink house.

  33. Bees have a secret life that most people are completely oblivious to. One of the top ten fears in the United States is bees, but they are not as harmful as most perceive. Silky, and tinted a rich golden yellow, the bees give us their honey. The plantation will show you the life of these bees, and you too, will soon be in on their secrets. You will receive cool lemonade, and a piece of toast with honey drizzled on top, while you tour the process of how the the honey is refined, from May. August and June will be your trusty tour guides. Show the bees some love, and enjoy!
Not hard to miss, and you would know, the pink house is the heart of the plantation. Welcome to the home of Black Madonna honey and bees. Largest ,and the only one of its kind, it stands strong, right outside! Before the tour, August will give you the story behind the name, in the comfy living room. Now, the white boxes to the left and right of the walkways are teeming with bees, making their honey like there's no tomorrow! If you see a bee, NEVER swat at it, hum softly (it soothes them), and show it some love. After all, you are swallowing their hard work...literally. As a treat, though, at the end of the season, we through them a party and give them 8 gallons of honey to show them we care and appreciate their work. Don't be afraid to ask August, May, or June questions. Also, if you have a chance to see the wailing wall, don't be alarmed if you see May there, she visits often. Have fun on the farm, and don't forget to check out the gift shop!

  35. Come one come all, welcome to the house of the Boatwright family. The loving women who perform the task of beekeeping and producing the delicious Black Madonna Honey. The first thing you'll find you notice about the Beekeeping Estate is the buzzing of thousands of bees wings, if not the evident (but beautiful) pink house August, May, and June Boatwright live in. Take a step in a be met immediately by the hospitality provided by the three sisters. For an extended tour, I'd advise you consult August. She'll tell you all about the origins of the Black Madonna statue and the purpose of The Daughters of Mary. Maybe she can even coax June to play one of her many songs. If the conditions are right, throw on some protective clothes and a veil, and you can be right there with August, in the midst of the bees. Never EVER get scared. The bees don't like that very much. Always extend your love to the bees, and they'll love you back. If you get tired out from beekeeping, ask nicely and I'm sure August will take you in for dinner. Be careful, however, as it'd be a rarity for May not to take a trip to the wailing wall. The smallest things can set her off. Once you finish off your visit with a delicious pork-chop dinner, you'd absolutely want to come back.

  36. Welcome to the Boatwright Sister's home of bees. Here, honey is a staple. Our lovely bees work constantly, providing us with honey. Whenever you come, there is no doubt that you'll see the bees in action. They buzz away like the rumble of an engine. Just to show you how great our honey is, everyone will get a sample. Sometimes if you come in the summer and you're lucky, you'll get to taste purple honey!
If you're having a bad time, visit our wailing wall. It was hand-made by May Boatwright, who you'll usually see near the wall. Another oddity(well, to you maybe!) is our Black Mary. She's always there to help you out, so go visit her. She loves visitors!
After August shows you the sights perhaps you'll catch a glimpse of our current resident, and beekeeper apprentice, Lily. She's a shy critter, but don't be offended. Usually she's busy with the bees.

  37. Welcome to the lovely home of honey bees. Most people fear these underestimated creatures, but they are fantastic at making the delicious, sticky and sweet honey my sisters and I life off of. As you walk by your eyes will see our land with the many hives contain busy bees. The pink house and the surrounding land is where Black Madonna Honey is produced, made, and shipped off. Entering over by the bees your ears will be swarmed with the buzzing of bee air conditioning systems, but do not be frightened and be sure to follow the bee yard etiquette. You are able to observe how they keep cool in the heat of the sun while continuing their job and satisfying the queen. Wearing the mask will keep you safe while looking at the bees, so be sure to not show fear, give them love, and locate the queen by finding the circle of bees surrounding her. My sisters, June and May, our helpers, Zach, Lily, and Rosaleen live off of the tasty honey made by these bees every day. We put honey in our drinks, foods, and use it for medicine. Sometimes we enjoy the lovely sensation just for fun. Upon leaving you will be able to taste a try of this delicious honey served by my two sisters May and June, if you enjoyed it you can purchase some. The special part about the honey is we have purple jars, acquired when bees fly to certain flowers. On our farm land we have the Wailing Wall, which is a special place for my youngest sister May and her gentle feelings. My sisters, helpers, and myself hope you enjoy the secret life of bees.

Pancakes with honey drizzled over the top. And the very famous honey as well. Along with with many amazing food you would see a lot of amazing sights as well. The three main hostess of our visit is the all famous in bee tending the Boatwright sisters. They are June, May, and August as well. When you are with them you would do a lot of different things such as go to a church with them and sing many songs about the mighty and powerful Mother Mary. And if you get lucky they would even let you help them tend their huge home made bee farms. August would take you all over South Carolina collecting honey, collecting wax, and the most important thing to do is see if the queen bee and other bee of the hive are all comfortable and happy together.

  40. As you drive up the gravel road to the Boatwright sisters’ house there in no way that you will not be able to spot it even on the foggiest days, because it is a fluorescent pink house. Some of the people that live in the area say that it looks like Pepto-Bismol. Not only is this house known for it bright pink color but also for the honey that August Boatwright makes, called Black Madonna Honey. The mistress of bees is August Boatwright the oldest of the three sisters. When you visit the Boatwright’s house August will be your host and take wonderful care of you. She is kind and one of the most caring women I have ever met. The Boatwright sisters have a yard in the back filled with bees, these bees make the most amazing Black Madonna Honey. When you are in the Boatwright house you will notice they use honey for almost everything, for the wax on the furniture, to honey on a biscuit. I hope you like honey because while you are staying at the Boatwright’s house you will be eating it at every meal. “We live for honey. We swallow a spoonful in the morning to wake us up and at night to put us to sleep. We take it with every meal to calm the mind, give us stamina, and prevent fatal disease. We swab ourselves in it to disinfect cuts or heal chapped lips. It goes into our baths, our skin cream, our raspberry biscuits and tea. Nothing was safe from honey.” Says August. The Boatwright’s property is a peaceful and quiet place to stay. Occasionally you might her the buzzing of the bees or a slight breeze, but nothing that will keep you up all night. While you are staying at the Boatwright sister’s house you can help August with harvesting the honey, or May in the kitchen doing chores. You can explore the woods and all the property or just sit and relax. The Caribbean pink house is a welcoming place filled with love and if you come to Tiburon South Carolina, don't even think twice about not stopping by the Boatwright sisters loving home.

  41. Once you see the bright pink house, you'll know you're here! Enter through the gate in the picket fence. Welcome to the Boatwright Beekeeping Estate in Tiburon, South Carolina; also known as the “Bee and Honey Paradise”! This is where the Black Madonna Honey is made. Here, three sisters lovingly take care of the bees. They are August, May and June Boatwright. Be prepared to hear the calming sounds of humming bees and a beautifully played cello (played by June Boatwright). You will see a row of white boxes bordering the woods next to the house and if you’re wondering who is by those boxes, it would be none other than August Boatwright, your host. June Boatwright will be your entertainer and May Boatwright will be preparing the food. Each of these sisters has a unique personality and you are sure to love every one of them.
Once you enter the lovely house, you will be given a slice of bread with the Black Madonna Honey spread on it and a glass of refreshing orangeade. The honey will leave you wanting more for sure! Not to worry, though, extra slices are available at the end of the tour. Once the tour of the well-kept house is finished, you will go outside. This is the best part of the tour. The bees! You will get to witness the secret life of bees. You will see how the bees’ lives revolve around the queen bee. You might think that you work a lot, but once you see the life of a bee, you won’t even think it again. You will observe how the diligent bees are calmed down by the smoke puffers. When visiting this area of the farm, however, please stay calm. Never swat at bees! Swatting will only agitate the bees and it will be very likely that you will get stung. So, if you don’t want bee stings, appease the bees. Everyone will get a chance at using the smoke puffers on the bees. Don’t be afraid though! A rare sight is seeing the bees relaxing. They are never relaxing – you would be lucky to see even one bee taking a break. At the end of the whole tour, you will receive a jar of Black Madonna Honey for you to take home and savor. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, they will be answered at the end of the tour by all three sisters.

August would be a great host and would show the tourists the wonderful sights of her Beekeeping Estate.

  43. Carolina jasmine, chive, dillweed, and lemon balm twine around the porch of a fuchsia house. The interior of the house is gold as honey and filled with the scent of it. The floors and furniture are waxed with honey, the candles are made of honey, and every meal has a good dose of honey in it to "calm the mind, give us stamina, and prevent fatal disease" Yet the house is not the only marvel about this magical place. The real marvel are the bees. You can here them, constantly humming, an orchestra of buzzing, soaring voices. All around the yard there are white boxes, little tiny apartment buildings in which the bees live their secret lives. The bees are the soul of this magical place where they aren't things that sting you and cause you pain. Here they are living, breathing wonders who have a known purpose and are loved. The three calendar sisters, as they are known, are the ones that do the loving. They know everything about bees and August would be happy to show you how to make honey and care for the bees. She will take you around and show you where the bees live. She lives and breathes bees, honey, and everything that has to do with them. If you're lucky you might see her performing a waltz of sorts as she collects the untreated honey. The bees fly around her in a cloud, drifting through the smoke that lured them out. The primary food here is honey; honey on bread, honey in tea. August calls it "the ambrosia of the gods and the shampoo of the goddesses" At this bee estate one can learn about honey, learn how to make honey, or sit in on a meeting of the sisters of Mary. This group holds their own little church session. They sing and touch the heart of a statue of Mary for courage and strength.

August Boatwright will gladly take you around the bee yard and show you the hives. You may notice that although she is around so many stinging creatures, she doesn't wear long sleeves. August will advise you to "send the bees love"; that's how she gets them to stay calm. I didn't think that was possible, especially with all the sounds of buzzing around me, but as soon as I tried it I was immediately immersed. The peace the bees can bring you is intoxicating, if you let them take over your senses. After the tour of the bee yard, go into the kitchen, and May will be there with biscuits with their Black Madonna Honey on them and sweet ice tea. How more perfectly could you end a great day? If your place your head against one of the hives you can hear thousands of bee wings fanning thus cooling the hive. A once in a lifetime oppurtunity. Ay every meal you can enjoy honey. In the morning there are plenty of bananas, and in the afternoon there are often delicious balogna sandwiches. All of the land sorrounding the sisters house is full of bees, bees and more bees. The eldest sister, the one who keeps the bees, is known for her Black Madonna Honey. On the front of the honey jar is the label of a colored Mary. If you stay there you can surly bet that August, May or June Boatwright will be your host. Maybe even August's bee keeping helper, Zach. When you stay here you better be prepared for bananas. If you're looking for activities, I'm sure that you will love bee keeping with August and her bees. She can show you the works, and how to show each and ever bee love and kindness. This also means that you will almost always hear the sound of bees buzzing and about once a day, you might hear the sound of May's whailing cries. Something you'll see, in which, you would not see anywhere else is May's wall. She made herself over the years, with river stones. It's an unbelivable site to see!

  58. Sabrina Marvin's essay Welcome to the Boatwright's home. When you are here August Boatwright will be hosting the tour. The sounds that you will hear will be many bees buzzing and the occasional "Oh Susanna" that is hummed by May Boatwright. The foods that will be served will be all honey dishes. Some specific honey dishes are apples with honey drizzeled on the top of them. Another dish is pancakes that are in the shape of the first letter of your name. Some activities are putting on bee keeper outfits and collecting honey from the bees. A lot of rare sights will be the beautiful backyard of the Boatwright's home. This tour is very entertaining and anyone who takes will be having a great time exploring.

  59. Come on down to the south and visit the Boatwright sisters. Their beautiful pink house is nestled right in the heart of the woodlands located in Tiburon South Carolina. This estate is beautifully decorated with a nice classic vibe to it. Imagine waking up to the sun glowing behind the clouds and pine tress stretching beyond the house as far as the eye can see. Besides waking up to that beautiful sight you will also wake up to a gourmet breakfast cooked by one of the sister who spends much of her time reading cook books. However after you are done eating you can listen to calming tranquil music played by a second sister. She is a master at the cello and will give you Goosebumps. And if you don't want to do either of these things you can go with the third sister and work on the bee farm. When working on the bee farm you will hear the saddle sound of bees wings flapping. It is truly spectacular. Once you arrive you will never want to leave.
