  9. May:
    M- My wall, May has her own wall that she calls the wailing wall. She writes down all of the things that upset her and tucks them in between the stones of the wall. This makes her feel better and seems to be the only thing that helps her.
    A-agitates, May gets very nervous and disturbed when she hears something that is sad.
    Y-young, May was just a girl when her sister killed herself and apart of May was lost.

    Lily:
    L- Lost, Lily has run away from her home and is with Rosaleen at the Boatwright's house. She can be considered lost by her father or the people that do not know where she went.
    I- Incessantly, Lily lies incessantly because she doesn't want anyone to find where she really is from and who she really is.
    L- Lonely, Lily's mother died when she was a young child and Lily never experienced what it is like to have a real mother. She is Lonely without the comfort of her mother.
    Y- Yourself, Lily cant be herself because she has ran away from home and no one can know who she is. Lily can't be herself when she doesn't have that many friends at home and can express herself around T. Ray like other kids can.

    Y- Yellow and black bees she takes care of have to be covered for May's funeral

    A- A teacher of bee etiquette
    U- Unique religion of things they put together on their own
    G- Grieving is how she felt when May died
    U- Unique hats the Daughters of Mary wear
    S- She is most like they queenbee because she is the most mother like to all of them.
    T- To many people she is a great person to go to for advice (and honey), others don't like her because of her skin.

  36. In Chapter 8, Lily writes a a letter to T. Ray and adds an acrostics that spells out Daddy. She doesn't plan on sending the letter, but she needs to get her feelings down on paper. If I were to make an acrostic poem for two characters, I would make them for Rosaleen and T. Ray.
    J- just decided to marry Neil.
    U- Unique
    N- not nice to Lily when she first arrives.
    E- Eventually becomes nice and kind towards Lily.

    T- Terror of a father.
    R- Raging
    A- Aggravating.

    Miserable with the world and herself.
    April, Mays twin sister, committed suicide.
    Yells “Oh Suzanna!” when she is sad and tries to comfort herself.

    Brought to the “wailing wall” by her sisters when she got depressed
    Oh Susanna! was her favorite song.
    A ccepting her sister’s death was too much to handle.
    Talking about feelings wasn’t something she did often.
    Wailing Wall was her refugee
    Rosaleen was her close friend.
    In her soul was a great amount of pain and suffering.
    Gone.
    Hoped that her sisters would live life to the fullest.
    Tormented by her own mind.

    Reluctantly went along with Lily’s plans

    Speaks her mind clearly
    After May dies, she becomes very quiet
    Lily considered Rosaleen her first friend
    Escaped from jail
    Easily becomes part of the Daughters of Mary religious community
